CONTEMPORARY ART GALLERY IN SEMINYAK, BALI
The word nyaman means ‘cozy’ or ‘comfortable’ in the Indonesian language. It defines the philosophy of our gallery: We aim to highlight for our guests the welcoming backdrop of Bali and the ease with which they can interact and enjoy contemporary art. We believe that art can be found in every little detail and is accessible to all. From the moment you step into our spacious display room, we invite you to imbibe in the spirit of Nyaman. From the wearable art of our jewelry and fashion lines to the paintings, photographs, and sculptures that might artfully adorn your own home: we want you to feel at home and in touch with the diversity of contemporary Indonesian and international artists displayed at Nyaman Contemporary Gallery.
Nyaman Gallery represents Bali-based emerging local artists, as well as uniquely talented and carefully curated international artists.
We understand that patience and dedication are essential for nurturing creative growth. We revel in the art of discovering the hidden gems of the artistic mind — as well as the artist’s final production. Carrying this into the consciousness of our gallery, we sustain an exclusive, familial, and long term relationship with the artists we feature.

A nostalgic moment with the vintage look of wet plate photography collection by photographer Stephan Kotas. On display at Nyaman Gallery.
Using a camera that over 100-year old, a chemical process that hasn’t changed since 1851, and many sessions of trial-and-error, the Bali-based/Prague-born photographer pays homage to the original process of light painting in this digital world. The result: one-of-a-kind archival object of art that will last hundreds of years.
